Heading for Scotland

Hi everyone. Yesterday (Monday) we left Grandma, Jeanette and Kevin in London, picked up a Ford Kuga and headed north towards Scotland. It reminded us of the day we first arrived in the UK six weeks ago. It was a grey, overcast day with plenty of rain. We only got as far as the Brick House B&B in Hertfordshire where Helen was our host. Very pleasant.

At breakfast we met Stephanie and her Dutch husband, Yup (spelling??). They are Christians and had lived in South Africa for many years. As we shared stories it became clear that they knew a MAF pilot and family in Arnhem Land who we knew. Small world!!!

We are having an easy day here, catching our breath, repacking our bags and generally getting organised for the next part of our journey, Scotland.

On the way to Scotland we are hoping to look up a friend from the 1980s, and do some family research into Bryan's father's mother's family.

Wonderful to be able to follow your next adventure thru Scotland. Praise God for providing you with fellow christians on your journey and pray for protection during your travels. Look forward to reading and seeing you next lot of beautiful photos.

Hi everyone,  Recently a beautiful granddaughter joined our family - welcome Amelia. We were able to meet her while visiting Darwin recently. Below are a few photos of Amelia with Granny and Pa. What a blessing she is! Noah is growing quickly. He does not have to be asked twice to go to the nearby playground. Noah and Amelia getting to know each other - beautiful!! Laura has recently been touring in Italy and Croatia. She had a ball and already has a few ideas for the next trip. HOLIDAYS and FAMILY

Hi Nancy and I pray that all will know joy and be greatly blessed over this Christmas period.  'And foreigners (non-Jews) who bind themselves to the Lord ......... these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer ......... for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'. Isaiah 56:6-7.  As I write this I am back in Yarraman enjoying some leave. It has been an especially busy and challenging year. Nancy left Croker Island back in September to attend her family re-union and then has been caring for her sister Heather after her knee joint replacement.  The ranger work at Croker this year started normally enough however moved up a level when Siam weed was discovered on Croker Island. IFFV - Illegal Foreign Fishing Vessels

Hi  For a few months now we have been reporting Illegal Foreign Fishing Vessels (IFFVs) in our area. Some may have seen reports of Indigenous rangers in the Kimberley's, WA discovering IFFVs, often hiding in creeks and sometimes actually going ashore and camping. Concerningly, we have had the same issues around here. Apart from the illegal fishing aspect there is also a very real biosecurity risk. Indonesian has many diseases that we do not want in Australia - Foot and Mouth, Rabies etc. Last Monday we observed an IFFV in the area where we were conducting our marine research - but more about that later. Firstly, let's back up a little.  Last year we detected an IFFV near McClure Island - see the photo below. The crew were apprehended and the vessel destroyed.
