2023 IN REVEIW

 Hi everyone

Life has been busy lately. Hence no blog posts for a while. We are sure that we are not alone with that problem.

Where has this year gone?

Our family gathered in January when we celebrated Nancy's mother's 98th birthday near Maleny, Queensland. Kristy, Dean and Noah made it so we had four generations in our line present. Nancy's older brother Ken, currently has five living generations in his family - a very special achievement!

Nancy's mum has declined throughout the year. Consequently, Nancy has spent a lot of time in Queensland this year. Sadly she passed away a couple few weeks ago.

Bryan came into Darwin for a Marine Mega Fauna conference in February and snapped the photo below of a wet season sunset over Darwin Harbour.

In March with our senior ranger, Bryan attended a forum in Katherine. We flew into Tindal Airforce Base near Katherine. Our son Jayson is working there currently on the major upgrades - the runway extensions can be seen in the bottom left corner. It was great catching up with Jayson and seeing where he has been working.

In April we celebrated grandson Noah's first birthday. He is doing very well and is constant source of great joy and blessing. Kristy and Dean send us photos and/or videos of Noah most days.

We were remembering recently when our children were little and how we had to finish the roll of film in the camera and then send that away via the 'snail mail' to develop the photos. Some weeks later they would return and then we could send photos to our family - also via 'snail mail'.  Now days we get not only photos but also videos and just a few seconds after they have been taken.

Without a doubt, the big event in our year has been the wedding of Kristy and Dean. This was held in September on Kristy's families holiday block between Geelong and Ballarat. The weather was very kind as you can see below. The setting was a very peaceful place beside the Moorabool River.

Kristy and Dean each wrote their own vows which added to an already very special day. Little Noah stole the show at times.

And the happy couple after the official ceremony.

The Macdonald family - not sure where Noah was for this photo.

The four Macdonald 'boys' all dressed in Scottish gear featuring the our Macdonald Clanranald ancient tartan. By this stage Noah was over photos.

Bryan's work with the Garngi Rangers continued through the year. Last week he attended a North Australia Biosecurity Conference in Darwin. We heard that the biosecurity risk for Australia is increasing significantly. There are plant and animal diseases just to our north that would cause huge problems for Australia should they enter the country. Below is a video reviewing the year for Garngi Rangers.

This Christmas we have Laura, Jayson, Dean, Kristy and Noah with Alastair (Bryan's brother) and Cathy and their children (with partners) and grandchildren coming for Christmas with us at Yarraman. We will have a full house however are looking forward to a very special time together.

Sadly, many around our planet who live in troubled areas will not have a joyful Christmas.

We pray you will enjoy a peaceful and joyful Christmas and New Year with those close to you.

Bless ya all until next year.

Nancy and Bryan
