Hi from Croker Island

We have been enjoying some lovely dry season weather lately - maximums around 30 and minimums around 20, with the humidity much lower. Last night I didn't have either the air conditioner or ceiling fan on - first time this winter. 

Nancy has just flown down to Queensland after spending a some weeks in Darwin. Kristy injured her knee quite badly while playing netball which resulted in a SOS call to Nancy to come in and assist with Noah's care. It took about 0.00001 of a second for her to respond in the affirmative. She has greatly enjoyed her time with Noah (and Kristy and Dean). 



Below is a short video of our grandson, Noah. He is such a blessing.


As mentioned earlier, Nancy has gone to Queensland to visit family, including her 98 year old mother.

In September, Dean and Kristy are getting married in Geelong so they are busy making arrangements. 

Laura continues with her life and work in Brisbane. Earlier this year she moved into new accommodation. 

Jayson continues with his work at the Tindal Air Force Base near Katherine. He works two weeks on and one week off.

We are all looking forward to being together in Geelong in September.

 Hi In a previous blog post I mentioned that we had a wedding coming up. Our son Dean married Kristy. The wedding was held on Kristy's family's property between Geelong and Ballarat - a peaceful setting tucked in a valley beside the Moorabool River.  It was a lovely sunny day. Locals say it was the best weather they had enjoyed for a long time. The family and guests arrived and were enjoying the sunshine while chatting. In northern Australia most of the year one tries to avoid standing in the sun however during spring in Victoria the sunshine is very pleasant.   With the deep sound of a truck's engine exhaust brake, Kristy arrived in her dad's truck, which had been highly polished for the special occasion. A CROCODILE and an ANTLION - the Big and the Small

Hi It has been a while since my last blog post - life has been busy here. We are currently in the Northern Territory's early dry season. The water levels are dropping in many areas that have been inaaccessible through the wet season. Recently the rangers did a patrol to the north west of Croker Island and had an interaction with a large male salt water crocodile. He is in the photo below. Can you see him? Crocodiles can make themselves very hard to see.  How about this photo below? Just under the log in the centre of the photo - the sunlight is shining on his back. The rangers were able to flush him out in the open. And then got this photo. Don't worry, the camera has a big zoom lens so they were at a safe distance.  Shortly after the photo above was taken the feral pig in the photo below was spotted nearby - seemingly unaware of the crocodile.
