Macca's Meanderings

 Hi again Before we made it to the Great Ocean Road, we looked up some Missions Aviation Fellowship (MAF) friends. Firstly, Sylvia and Neil Thomson near Geelong. We had shared some time with Sylvia and Neil at Elcho Island back in the 1990s.  From Geelong we headed west to Geoff and Cheryl Amery's dairy farm near Cobden. Both the Thomsons and Amerys were on the same MAF Orientation/Induction course as us in early 1990.  Tim Gunner first came to MAF Arnhem Land as the building maintenance person. He later got into teaching. He was staying at nearby Camperdown in 2007, so while visiting him he gave us a tour of the area including the now extinct volcano near the town.  One of the great pleasures of our travels has been looking up friends who we spend time living and working with in a remote outback community. Hi again As promised I am starting a series of posts showing some of the amazing places we have been blessed to visit right across Australia. And often in these places we have met some equally amazing people.  In March, 2007 we took delivery of our brand new Trakmaster caravan in Melbourne. Before heading west and getting too far away from Melbourne, we decided to do a short trip to Wilson's Promontory and hopefully 'shake out' any problems with the van. Wilson's Promontory (the Prom) is the southern most point of the Australian mainland.  This caravan was the first, and only van we have owned. So back in 2007, we were very much learners at this caravaning game. On the way to the Prom, we stopped for a break. Upon entering the van we discovered that the fridge door had not been locked.
